Crimes of the Heart

  • "The action plays out in the girls’ grandfather’s home, fully realized through a believable, 1970s-style set featuring wonderfully kitschy touches. Poignant, funny, and sad moments — such as Lenny celebrating her birthday alone and Babe revealing the truth behind her actions — play out against this perfect backdrop, giving the play a “homey” feel and making the story all the more intimate." At the core of this tragic comedy, which won the Pulitzer Prize, is a trio of sisters from Mississippi who reunite after the youngest sister shoots her abusive husband. Past resentments bubble to the surface as they’re forced to deal with assorted relatives and past relationships, while coping with the latest incident that has disrupted their lives.
